Getting ready to leave

Today is Sunday, June 1. Yesterday John and I met with Sung Bae Jun and his wife Kim at the Korean restaurant, Fusion, in Spokane. Sung works with John and when he found out that I am going to Seoul, Korea (his home city) he was very interested in helping me.

Sung and Kim have been in the US for 20 years. Sung has been the main liason for the Koreans moving into Spokane in the past. He is very knowlegable and helpful with a dynamic personality.

We had a great time visiting and learning about the Korean culture, language, food, and even how to address and greet people. This was a very valuable time for me and helped me get my mind geared for what lies ahead. Sung and Kim will even help me connect with one of their relatives while I am in Seoul. He has lived there all his life and will likely be able to show me some very interesting sites when I have some time for personal exploration.
